Can anyone tell me what the loco wheel diameter was on a J27, and also what the axle spacing was? I've got a spare Gauge 1 "Project" chassis and would like to build it up as a J27 if it isn't too far out.

Now that's being lazy! It's all available on the NELPG website, amongst others! To save you a few clicks of the mouse: wheelbase is F8'-0" - 8'-6"R and diameter is 4'-7¼" when new.

I wasn't being lazy, it just didn't occur to me to look there!. Good news though, as the wheelbase is spot on and the wheels are only slightly smaller - it will make a nice antidote to all the LMS 4Fs running around as per the original design.
